There are rarely people that have
known and interested about extreme sport. Meanwhile, there are a lot of extreme
sport that we must try. One of them is riverboarding. Riverboarding is a boardsport in
which the participant lies prone on their board with fins on their feet for
propulsion and steering. This sport is also known as hydrospeed in Europe and as riverboarding or white-water sledging in New Zealand, depending on the type
of board used. Riverboarding includes commercial, recreational and the swiftwater rescue practice
of using a high-flotation riverboard, designed for buoyancy in highly aerated
water. Therefore, riverboard
could be chosen as destination if you want more adrenaline on your vacation.
In Klaten,
Central Java there is a riverboarding through the Pusur River. At first,
riverboarding in Klaten is just a hobby for people around there. But now, it
changes into extreme sport tourism in which a lot of tourist came to that place
to trying riverboarding through the Pusur River. It is fun doing riverboarding,
we can see the scenery, enjoying the riverboarding that can make us feel so
challenging, feel the coolness of the air and the river also, besides we have
to be brave to do it. We must move our feet carefully-because there are many stone
that maybe can strike out-and follow the river flow.
How to increase sport tourism in
Indonesia?
- Offer your visitors the best facilities and equipment possible. Give the best that you can to the visitors.
- For those visitors who came for sport or athletic reason, recommended them to stay in town after the athletic event has ended.
- Sports tourism, just like other forms of tourism, requires that you maintain good community lists, and emergency numbers.
- Know the risks that go with the types of sport tourism that you are promoting.
- Use sports as a means to teach people new skills. Learning a new athletic skill may not only be beneficial for a person’s stress levels, but also can teach teamwork and offer a new outlook on life.
- Use sports tourism to give a new image. Use your sports tourism as a way to develop a halo affect that spills over into every aspect of self-image.
